Hiking Lower Cedar Creek above Mackay, Idaho July 19 2011

I have hiked to the source of Lower Cedar Creek above Mackay, Idaho many times. On a hiking scale of 1-5 with 5 the hardest, the Lower Cedar Creek hike is about a 3. Today, with my hemoglobin at 8.6 (norms are 12-16), it was a bit more of a challenge. My brother, Jeff, had never been to the Lower Cedar Creek and it was fun to make memories with him and my sister, Jani. The whole hike took about 2 hours longer than usual - but, we persisted and made it to the top at 7,390 feet. The hike is 3 miles roundtrip.
What can I say - we are ALL from the same gene pool - jm, Jeff, and Jani at the Lower Cedar Creek Trailhead all geared up for a long hike. Our starting point was at 6,760 feet.

Remembering our Lindsay. My niece (Jeff and Carol's daughter), Lindsay Malkiewicz hiked Lower Cedar Creek with us on July 9 2004. We lost Linds in a car wreck just weeks later on August 13 2004. So, the Lower Cedar Creek hike always makes me feel closer to Linds.
