2nd ASCT - Day 122 - September 17 2012

Took the last of my Cycle 1 - 14 days of Zolinza (vorinostat) 400 mg today. Wondering if my taste will return over the next 14 days off before I begin Cycle 2.

The air is so dense with forest fire smoke today that I stayed inside all day with my HEPA filter. Got a lot of computer work done and calls made. Had a nice afternoon nadir (nap) and should be rested for my trip to St. Luke's Hospital MSTI in Twin Falls, Idaho tomorrow. Hopefully, the air will be clearer in the Magic Valley.
Can barely see Mt. McCaleb (above) and it probably just 5 miles away. Looking the other direction, the Mine Hill is a tad more visible, but not much.
This afternoon's air quality report from Challis, Idaho some 55 miles north of Mackay, Idaho. The air quality has been UNHEALTHY all day. We don't have an air quality monitor here.

I admire your courage on your journey with MM. I was diagnosed in Jan 12 at 60 and have just completed 32 weeks of velcade and dex. I am allergic to Revlimid and am scheduled for SCT in November at Mayo Hospital in Scottsdale AZ,where I live; so I don't share your travel challenges for care.
Your home town and photos remind me of where I was born in California - Bishop on the eastern side of the Sierras; same high mountain desert.
Best wishes for being healed, whole and healthy,
    Cindy Walsh

  2. Hi Cindy, So good to hear from you. I'm sorry you were also diagnosed with MM and have started your journey. I'm hoping you do not have HIGH RISK MM. Although I have never been to Bishop, California, I've had it on my list ever since the Jill Kinmont movies came out - what a BEAUTIFUL PLACE...and I'm pretty sure I still have a crush on Beau Bridges.
I'd love to correspond. My email address is rudi48@atcnet.ent or you can continue to leave comments here on my blog.
    Sincerely, jm
