Then, off to the Mackay Rodeo. Our wonderful lifetime friend, Flossie Miller Johnson passed away in January 2013 and she was the VERY 1ST Mackay Rodeo Queen in 1955.
To honor Flossie, her grandson, Jake Johnson gave Flossie's spirit and horse one last ride around the Mackay Idaho Rodeo Arena - WE LOVE YOU FLOSSIE!
When Flossie and my mother were young (lifetime friends), Flossie would take my city-living M on horse rides. Below, my mother, Marjorie Lundberg and Flossie Miller Johnson circa 1940.
After the bull bucks the rider off, 2 trained cowdogs herd the bull to the exit gate.
Saddle bronc riding with pickup man for the rider in the foreground.
The divide ANY and ALL children in to 4 age groups and let them chase two calves with tape adhered to them which the FASTEST children grab for a cash prize. This is the oldest group of kids. As the groups decrease in age, the size of the animal decreases too.
 Women's barrel racing.
Sare Stoddard, Judy Malkiewicz, and Scott Johnson watching the Mackay Rodeo.
Not home after the rodeo until 4:30 PM...but, I held up well. I had a stadium seat behind me that I could lean against.
