Revlimid chemotherapy by mouth Approved by my insurance June 16 2011

I had a call from a pharmacy today that my Revlimid prescription for (14) 25 mg. tablets was approved by my medical insurance company and the insurance will pay 100 Percent without any copay. This is wonderful news since the medication is approximately $438 PER PILL. The medication will arrive Fed Ex and I will have to sign for it on Tuesday, June 21st. I had to call the drug manufacturer and complete an on-the-phone survey to insure that I was not going to be pregnant since this medication causes birth defects and if federally regulated.

I don't think the Revlimid will begin until my second cycle of chemotherapy which begins on July 5th unless Dr. Moore suggests otherwise when I see him this coming Monday.
